One of the most precious and memorable times in life, is when a new baby is born and an addition to your family is made. When this happens friends and family gather to greet the new baby and wish the mom good health and happiness.
This happen to me recently. My little girl is now 3 months old. Time goes so fast. That is one reason that those precious gifts, such as photos, foot prints, and keepsakes mean so much. When my little girl was born, I received many gifts that documented the moment. My favorite is a collection of photos of the pregnancy and the newborn. The photos caught the precious moments right before and after the birth. It is a priceless keepsake. Photos such as these can be placed in special photo albums and keepsake frames. Mines was placed in both and given to me as a gift.
With the birth of my son, a friend greeted him with a large plastic duck surrounded with a flower arrangement. It was adorable and we still have the large plastic duck. When he was little and toddling around the house he use to carry the large plastic duck with him. It is extra special because of the time frame it came from and that it was a gift to him when he was born.
There are many ways to welcome a newborn. All are very special and reflect the time and thought put into them. Even the little things, such as a stuffed animal with a new baby bib, make great gifts. They are things that will set aside and kept for years and even passed down to the next generation. Any one who has had a baby understands how special these days are. You want to remember them and cherish the moments with friends and family following the birth of a newborn.
The hospital that my daughter was born at gave her a hardbound baby book for her to look at and read as she grows. Books are a great gift for this occasion. Another fun gifts is a frame to display the first footprints that the hospital sends home with you. There are frames that say things such as "my first prints" that are wonderful to display.
No matter how the gift is packaged it is appreciated. Sometimes baby gifts can be boxed, other times they are framed, or even layered and not meant to be wrapped such as a diaper cake. Diaper cakes are an example of a gift that is best left unwrapped. It is made of disposable diapers, which are much needed for any newborn, and are decorated with other needed baby objects to look like a layered cake. Toys and bottles are often included. Most definitely a great way to greet a new baby.
