Emotional Intelligence is becoming much more popular in discussions nowadays. So what is Emotional Intelligence? The way it sounds should really be the answer to that question. Being aware, at any given time as to what we are feeling or experiencing, emotionally, being Intelligent about your Emotions.

Wouldn't this be wonderful, if we all had an understanding of how our emotions can tend to run our behaviour and how we react in any given situation? To watch ourselves and understand why we say certain things at certain times when our lives get stressful or challenging.

There are tools and techniques we can learn to get a deeper understanding of our emotions and use these tools to help us, with everyday situations.

I have taken many personal development courses and learned some of these extremely useful and beneficial techniques. I use them when I need to, as I go about my daily life.

It can be something simple like getting annoyed at a comment someone makes about me. Instead of becoming upset with them and retaliating I use a technique to let all the negative feelings go. It is so freeing and what's even better is that I do not carry those feelings of hurt' around with me and bear a grudge against that particular person.

Life takes on a different meaning when you do not carry around negative' emotions. You see life from a different angle and from a calmer place. I do not get uptight anymore about things that used to bother me. Wouldn't this make life easier for every person if this sort of learning was available to everyone?

As children we let go' of things a lot quicker and easier than adults do. One minute two children can be playing happily, the next minute they can be fighting like cat and dog! Then all of a sudden one may start laughing and then everything is forgotten. How do we lose this gift as we grow older?

So many of us carry negativity around with us which is not helping us in the least. It is only giving us stress and problems. Just let it go!
