Like many other forms of exercise, you would need proper apparel for running. Many people are content using running shoes as their only gear.

However, the shoes only form a part of the gear. Proper running apparel will make you feel snug and cozy when exercising.

Of course, the shoes take first priority for proper running apparel. Your running shoes should fit well and should be comfortable. Without a good pair of running shoes, you are prone to lower back and leg pain. You might even sprain your feet if you don't wear running shoes or if your running shoes do not fit your feet well.

Because it is an important piece of running apparel, it would be a good idea to visit a local specialty running store for the shoes. In those stores, avid runners and staff will advise you on what shoes will be right for you.

The clothes you will wear also form part of your running apparel. They keep you warm and comfortable. Furthermore, they absorb sweat from your body when you run.

On hot days, you would want to wear a t-shirt or a tank top. The shirt or tank top should be made of absorbent materials, such as cotton, to absorb sweat. Some manufacturers of exercise apparel that are made of materials that let sweat slide away from the skin. They look good and they make you feel good.

For your lower body, you should wear short tights. Short tights can prevent leg discomfort caused by the inner thighs rubbing together. Compared to jogging pants or ordinary shorts, short tights allow your legs to move freely. They can also be worn under running shorts or jogging pants, should you choose to wear the latter.

During cold season, you have to don on running apparel that can sufficiently warm you. Sweatshirts or windbreaker jackets are good choices. You should also wear your clothes as layers. For example, you can wear a jacket over a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt in turn is worn over a t-shirt. If it becomes too warm for you, you can just peel off the outermost layer.

Because most of your body heat escapes through the head, it is not a good idea to wear a hat on warm days. On cold days, however, a hat is necessary. A baseball cap or a winter hat would be a good choice. You might also consider wearing warm gloves to warm you hands.

With proper running apparel, running becomes more comfortable.
