Burn WMM Files to DVD with Windows Movie Maker to DVD Creator

The other day I made a movie for my sister's wedding with Windows Movie Maker. And I wanted to burn it to DVD for watching on DVD player. I tried, but failed. The WMM video files cannot be burned to DVD directly.

After searching on Internet, I learnt that Windows Movie Maker is assuredly an easy and powerful video editing program, however, it is incapable of converting WMM video files to MPEG-2 which is burnable on DVD. So for burning the WMM movie to DVD, a qualified Windows Movie Maker to DVD creator program is needed.

And the Windows Movie Maker to DVD creator I selected is one that is intuitive and capable. Besides burning WMM to DVD, it provides other more features: burn DVD from almost all the available video formats; burn DVD disc, DVD folder or ISO file; customize DVD menu and personalizing other settings for the distinctive output; support popular DVD disc formats, like DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-5, DVD-9, etc.

Then get ready for the WMM to DVD burning:

Firstly export the edited video file from Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker exports videos as .wmv by default. Of course, you can choose to set the output video, for example, you can choose "DV-AVI" and the output file can be saved as .avi.

Remember no to export the video file by choosing "Save Project", since the video file will be saved as MSWMM. And this video file contains all the elements of WMM file like movie timeline, transitions, etc. So MSWMM cannot be burned to DVD.

After exporting the WMM video files to computer, launch the Windows Movie Maker to DVD creator program and begin the process of burning WMM video files to DVD:

Firstly import the .wmv or .avi file to the WMM to DVD program. And then set the output DVD format. Next is to make the DVD menu and there are rich DVD templates for your selection. There is an optional step to make some video editing for personalizing the output DVD video. After all the settings are finished, click the start button to start burning the DVD.
