subject: What Bodybuilding Supplements Really Work? [print this page] What Bodybuilding Supplements Really Work?
Want to know what bodybuilding supplements really work? This is a very fair question. There are thousands of bodybuilding supplements around these days. All claiming to pack on large amounts of muscle mass onto you.
Many of them do not work and will only waste your money. There are so many marketing tricks used to get you to buy different products. If you are interested in what these sneaky marketing tricks are; you can read a free special report at the end of the article.
Anyway, I am guessing now that you just wanna know, what bodybuilding supplements really work?
No worries, without further ado, I will show you the bodybuilding supplements that I personally use daily. I use them because I know they work. This is based on my own reading and from having used them myself for a long time now.
What Bodybuilding Supplements Really Work? Protein
Protein is without a doubt, one of the most important supplements you can take. Do not get me wrong here: There is nothing magical about protein supplements. They work the same way as food does (supplements are just powdered food after all).
The fact is you need lots of protein as it is nature's building block of life. Protein makes up 80% of your muscle if you removed all the water content.
Can you get enough protein from food?
Sure you can. But the fact is that you need to be eating lots of protein at regular intervals throughout the day.
This is where protein supplements come in. They are great for convenience at getting plenty of protein into you. You can easily get 25-50 grams of protein into your body with 1-2 scoops of protein.
A stale sandwich, canteen meal or other rushed lunch meal or breakfast. Will not even come close to getting that much protein.
Like I said, protein supplements are not essential. But getting lots of protein is! Protein supplements just help you get enough of it, during your busy day.
What Bodybuilding Supplements Should I Take?
Next up on what bodybuilding supplements should I take is creatine. Creatine is great for putting on lots of muscle. In fact some people believe that creatine is what made the supplement industry what it is today. And it is only one of the few bodybuilding supplements that actually work!
Now, please do not listen to people that tell you that creatine is like steroids or is dangerous. This is wrong as creatine is nothing like steroids.
All that creatine is, is muscle energy (in a nutshell). It is found naturally in red meats and the like. The real benefit to creatine supplements is that you would have to eat around 12 steaks a day. To get enough creatine to have any effect on your muscles.
But instead you can take a small scoop of creatine and get many great muscle building benefits. I'll not bore you with the science details of how creatine works.
All you have to know is that it works for putting on muscle!
In fact this is why creatine sometimes gets bad press, because is works so well, that many people start to say it is like steroids (even though they are two entirely different substances).
What Bodybuilding Supplements Actually Work?
There are two more answers to; what bodybuilding supplements should I take. Wanna know what they are?
You may not see these next two supplements advertised much, as they are not very sexy, in terms of muscle building advertising. But they work great at indirectly putting muscle on and are often forgotten about.
Theses supplements are fish oil and multivitamins. Now please do not yawn and switch of on me here. You may like to know that fish oil can help your body produce more testosterone!
You may like to know that a vitamin deficiency can stop you building muscle. So why not take a multivitamin to prevent this?
Fish oil and multivitamins are kind of like the 'work behind the scenes' supplements that do not get much glory or praise. But ignore them and you will not put on muscle!
What Bodybuilding Supplements Work?
Now, here is something I touched on earlier, but supplement companies use all sorts of marketing tricks to get you to buy their products. They use clever methods like 'label decoration' and the like.
