Sales Continue to Soar

Retailers in the UK reported an increase in sales for not only sun hats, paddling pools and desk fans, but also portable air conditioners in the summer of 2010 when temperatures soared as high as 35C.

Air conditioning ever present in Asia and the USA, has for most parts been considered a luxury in the UK, but as temperatures are predicted to rise, figures show more widespread take up for homeowners and businesses in good old Blighty'.

Apart from professional suppliers of air conditioning units, even non-specialist major high street retailers reported sales escalated for various types of air conditioning units. If predictions of global temperatures between 2 to 6 degrees will rise over the next 50 odd years, then it is inevitable that air conditioners are well and truly set to be a main stay in homes, offices, factories and many more buildings across the UK.

Currently the UK cools business buildings and specify air conditioning within the structure of the building itself. Having said that, as temperatures rise employers, keen to set conducive conditions to efficiency, will continue to purchase various types of air conditioning units in their businesses and organizations.

There is nothing like walking into a cool house on a hot summer's day and feel your central air conditioning unit cooling the air, and to achieve this there are so many options as to what you can install. If you are on a budget there are many portable air conditioning units you can invest in, they plug in and cool down any room, and the obvious benefit of these units is that they are portable and can be moved from room to room.

Installed systems do require maintenance and use a lot of energy, so you may want to consider portable air conditioning, which is friendly to the environment, friendly to our energy bills and more importantly requires no installation. You may also be of the mindset that after the initial heat of the summer you will just stash the unit away until you need it the following summer.

Today a portable air conditioner has so much more value, offering the latest technological advances and can be used in either cooling only or cooling and heating mode thus can be used all year round, and has certainly changed lives for millions of people on the planet.

The world has Willis H Carrier to thank for solving the problem by inventing the very first models of installed and portable air conditioners, and thank goodness for that or we would still be circulating aqueduct water through the walls of houses, as in ancient Rome.

A spokesman for Climachill leading air conditioning and electrical contractors in Sussex said "we have installed wall split systems into many homes, and we think there has never been a better time to have an air conditioning system in your home, we go that extra mile to meet the exact needs of our clients, and provide the right system within budget and on time".
