Nutrisystem Basic Vs Nutrisystem Select: What Is The Real Difference?

I often hear from people who are trying to decide between the Nutrisystem select and the Nutrisystem regular programs. They're often trying to determine exactly how these two plans differ from one another. I often hear comments like: "what's the difference between the select and the regular plan? Why does the select line cost more money? Is it that much better? Is it worth it?" I will try to address these concerns in the following article.

The Main Difference Between Regular Nutrisystem And The Select Line Is The Frozen Food Options: People sometimes admit to me that they think the select line is said to be more effective or that it contains fewer calories or that it works in a different way. These assumptions aren't entirely accurate. The select line is based on the same principle and works in the same way as the basic plan. You still eat five times per day and all of the foods on both of these lines have roughly the same amount of calories, carbs, fiber, protein, and sugar.

The real difference lies in the fact that the Nutrisystem select line offers additional frozen food entrees that you don't get on the regular plan. Some of the foods will and do overlap. But, in addition to the regular foods of your choice, the frozen line gives you additional "frozen gourmet" choices like ice cream, french toast, pancakes, sandwich melts, paninis, ravioli, roast turkey, and shrimp, to name only a few options.

The frozen items are delivered frozen to your home and are easy to prepare, but so are the regular meals. Since these work in the same way and the main difference is not in the design or the effectiveness, people often want to know if the increased cost is worth it (although sometimes the frozen line goes on sale where you don't have to pay such a premium for it.) I'll try to address this question now.

Is It Worth Extra Money To Have Access To The Frozen Foods?: As you might imagine, the Nutrisystem select line costs a little bit more when it isn't on sale. People often want to know if the foods are worth this premium. The answer varies depending on who you ask. To me, it really comes down to your experience on the plan. Obviously, you want to set it up where you are enjoying the foods so that you don't mind being on the diet. Because if you dread eating the meals, it's likely that you won't have the same level of success as you might if you liked what you were eating.

For some, this level of satisfaction is completely possible with the Nutrisystem regular line. There are some very good meals that aren't frozen. Examples are the pizza, the macaroni and cheese, the tacos, the pastas, and any of the breakfasts, snacks, and desserts. However, some people want to experience the very best that the plan has to offer because they plan to be on this program for a while or they just feel that they want the best experience and foods that are possible. So for some, that additional money is not such a big price to pay to have access to more "gourmet" meals that they will enjoy.

This really is a matter of personal preference, but hopefully this article has shown you that the real difference between these two is the access to the frozen foods. They are both designed to work in the same way and you can often find very good coupons for both plans, not to mention that the select line is sometimes placed on sale.
