College Basketball Betting Odds February 21st 2011

College Basketball Betting Odds February 21st 2011 - Does any one want to be number one? Ever since the Buckeyes fell, then Kansas and then Texas, it is anybody's guess who will be number one this week. There is a nice range of games this evening with some tournament hopefuls from mid conferences along with two featured ESPN games.

Check out the betED NCAA basketball odds page for the latest odds on these and all of the President's day action and pick some winners.

Syracuse Orange at Villanova Wildcats Odds: (-3.5, 135) 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

Villanova (21-6, 9-5) goes for the season sweep tonight against a young Syracuse (22-6, 9-6) squad that lacks leadership and discipline. Syracuse was fortunate to sneak by Rutgers in overtime and the Wildcats dodged a bullet at DePaul over the weekend

Villanova's leading three-point shooter, Cory Stokes, is expected to miss tonight's encounter. He was very instrumental in Villanova's win in Syracuse last month. Cory Fisher will try to pick up the slack for the Wildcats.

Rick Jackson has become the go-to guy for the Orange. He leads the team in points, rebounds ands blocked shots. Syracuse still struggles to come to grips with Coach Boeheim's zone. Until the Orange grasp the defense, anything can happen.

The tale of the tape between these teams is a virtual toss up. Syracuse has too much inside power to ignore. Take 3.5 points and the Orange.

Oklahoma State Cowboys at Kansas Jayhawks Odds: (-17, 144.5) 9:00 PM ET, ESPN

The Cowboys (15-1-, 4-8) would like nothing more than to keep the upsets coming. The Jayhawks (25-2, 10-2) were number one a week ago but will certainly tumble after a thorough dismantling by K State and Jacob Pullen.

To make matters worse for the Cowboys, senior swingman Markief Morris may be unavailable. He saw limited action Saturday and Oklahoma State can ill afford the loss of his 14.1 points per game.

Statistically, Kansas shoots better, rebounds better and runs the floor more efficiently. Give 17.0 points and take the Jayhawks.

Furman Paladins at Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs Odds: (+3.5, 141.5) 7:00 PM ET

Furman (20-7, 12-4) is looking to build their post season resume with a road win over spunky Chattanooga (14-4, 10-5) who have their own vision of the Southern Conference berth.

Statistically, Furman has a comfortable shooting percentage edge, hits the offensive glass very hard and is stingy on defense. The home crowd will not be enough help to turn Furman away.

Give 3.5 points and take Furman.
