The best vacation in a bad economy is to just head to the beach. Some of the best beach locations located in the Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach,Virginia Beach, Atlantic Beach and more.
There is always some kind of free entertainment, free access to any public beach destination and you get catch up on the needed rest by laying on the beach soaking up all that free sunshine. Also swimming is some really great way to get some well needed low impact exercise not including some cooling down of that hot beach. An extra bonus is some of the great scenery walking the beaches if you know what I mean. And is also a place where you can take the entire family with little worry.
If your are like me and having to keep a watchful eye on your resources and are trying to extend your vacation a little this year, one of the cost effective ways in doing that is try to get a discount vacation package. This kind of vacation package normally takes care of hotel or resort accommodations, airfare if you plan on flying, many of your meals and in some cases your domestic drinks.
There are many different kinds of discount vacation packages offered out there by resorts, hotels and even travel agencies. You will find that you will have to do a lot of research to find a vacation package that fits your budget but the money you save will be well worth it.
Checking the internet is a great way of finding some really great vacation packages for a vacation destination of your choice. You will not only find vacation packages offered but you can add or remove things that you might not be interested in doing with that particular discount vacation package. Also if you need to find some extra tickets to dinner shows or attraction tickets like Disney World or Universal Studio tickets you could check places like ebay.
Places like ebay not only offer places where you can purchase tickets but also offers places where you can get some complementary tickets as well. Getting complementary tickets is a great way of saving some of your own budget you could use someplace else, just for giving up a little of your vacation time which is usually 90 minutes or less.
That really isn't a big deal if you think about it. Attraction tickets are very expensive correct? So if you save a few hundred dollars on the ticketsyou can use the extra money to actually extend your vacation another day so you really in a sense are getting a better vacation by exchanging 90 minutes of your time to extend your vacation by a day or two.
Another way to be able to afford a vacation this year is do what a lot of other people do which is to cut down on how many meals you eat out. Many hotels and all resorts offer some kind of refrigerator for use. If you plan on staying at a hotelstop at the store in the way into town and get lunch meat and some bread and have lunch in your hotel room. If you are going to a resort after you check in go to the grocery store and do some shopping because you can cook in the resort and eat at a dinner table there. Also I have found that whether you are in a hotel or resort ordering pizza and having it delivered to wherever you are staying is a big money saver.
If you do a little research and come up with a few ideas of your own, just about everyone will find that they still can take a great vacation even in a bad economy.
