Time is running out and the clock is running down. Very soon now, if a miracle doesn't happen, we may all be standing in bread lines?
I have read and printed so much on and off the Internet, I don't know if I dare turn my computer on tomorrow or just pack my toothbrush and some clean underwear and fly on the next available flight to Timbuktu?
The other day I read about five, I say 'braindead' politicians, in the state of Washington who have proposed House Bill 1716 to their State Legislature. This Bill seeks to regulate and curb the purchase of Gold. They want all dealers inthis metal to file a form with the NAME, DOB, SEX, HEIGHT,RACE, WEIGHT, ADDRESS and TELEPHONE NUMBER of every individual who purchases more than $100 in Gold. I really hope this is just somemore BUNK on the Internet?
If this Bill pases and other states followed suit, then that means the end of America which has been our ideal and home since 1776?
Now for something much different! Maybe it is meaningful, maybe not? It is somewhat disheartening and dumb but that describes us humans! Everyone remembers that (dumb, stupid, idiotic) craze of collecting baseball cards and memorabilia some 20 years ago. I was out of the country for many years, so when I heard about this craze I remembered how I too had collected those cards in the 1940's. I know I had at least two cigar boxes full. I could buy five cards and a big piece of double bubble gum for a nickel! I had Jackie Robinson, Stan Musiel, Ted Williams, Vic Wertz, Hank Greenberg, Bob Lemon, George Kell, Babe Ruth, Joe D. and man, many more. I found out when we moved in 1954 that my dear mother had thrown them all out in the garbage. What if I still had those cards when I returned in the 1990's?
Then came the "Beanie Baby" craze of the late 1990's! There was also the beginning of a telephone card craze too. Most of the crazes died out and people became a bit worried and serious about their future, so they turned their hard earned cash, "fiat" money into IRA's, 401K's, Keogh's CD's and a few other financial opportunities based on the "Greenback".
All this thime Gold and Silver were increasing in price! I too didn't pay much attention and I got into my own craze of collecting baseball caps. I bought one at practically every city and site I stopped at. I now have over 170 hats hanging from the rafters on my patio. Each hat cost me between $13 to $20. What if I had saved that money, roughly $3400 and invested it in Gold and Silver. Maybe if I had purchased an American Gold Eagle Silver dollar or a South African Krugerrand every year, I would be enjoying life today and not struggling?
You know back in 1996, Gold was sold at about $392 an ounce and Silver sold for about $5.32 an ounce. How times have changed and most people still don't get it! Today Gold closed at $1410 an ounce and Silver was at $33.51 an ounce. Both are destined to go much higher!
All I can say and want to say, is please forget 'baseball cards, beanie babies, baseball caps, telephone cards and all the other crazes. Cash in your "fiat" currency backed IRA, 401K, CD and what not and invest in Gold and Silver.
