Sportfishing, Another Pro to Select Mendoza for the Next Vacations

Any fisherman staying at the Diplomatic Hotel will not want to miss for anything in the world the opportunity to get to know Mendoza's rivers and lakes. They are home to the most stunning fish. That is why many fishing fanciers come from world-wide to the province of Mendoza with the hope of getting one of these astounding specimens. And that what the region of Cuyo is, a place predestined to be one of the most essential fishing spots in the world.

Cuyo rests on a soil extremely dry. Even So, its dwellers have managed to transmute the thirsty Mendoza land on one of the most productive and plentiful of the country. Dams and hydroelectric Dikes on numerous rivers of Mendoza have been constructed, to tackle its force to produce electrical energy and provide water all irrigation ducts in Cuyo. In this way, electricity and water supply are provided to all small departments and cities of the province, in addition to the vineyards, ensuring the quality and quantity of their productions.

In rivers and lakes through the hills, large numbers of pink salmon can be spotted. The brown and rainbow trout also prefer the mount streams as their natural habitat, especially close to Malargue, Ro Grande and the Salado River, south of Mendoza. In the north lie the River Atuel and Nihuil, dammed in the Valle Grande dyke. Diamond and Atuel rivers render man-made lake Reyunos, habitat of the largest rainbow trout in the Cuyo region.

Due to environmental matters, fishing may be confined to a certain number of fish. This means that fishing is allowed, but only in lakes and rivers specifically specified for that intention, and a confined number of catch per capita. That is why there are so numerous artificial lakes in the region, where you can catch salmon, trout and dorado of large size. Still, none of these species is so typical and abundant as mackerel, much easier to catch.

Fly fishing is one of the most frequent ways of catching fish in the many brooks and reservoirs of the region. There, the superb sensation of the soundlessness of nature, and the state of mind that fishing needs make it the most unwinding experience. Fishing often begins early in the morning, and at the end of the fishing journey, around 5 or 6 pm, the fishermen return to the Diplomatic Hotel, very happy and fulfilled for a fantastic day.
