Wow I am so excited to see that even an ex-president is grasping the idea that foods really can make a difference in your life. The research shows that 82% of people who turn to a plant-based diet heal themselves. This video says it all. Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and Dr. Dean Ornish are by no means the only experts that are touting the benefits of a plant-based vegan diet, but they have helped out a man who has a lot of public influence Bill Clinton. It is truly undeniable what can take place in the body once you get rid of the things that are causing many of the current diseases in our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

So it is a recurring theme:
No meat of any kind. Basically anything with a face, yes this includes fish, just think about how many toxins are in that anyway.
No dairy from any mother. Some people would argue that the raw versions are o.k. for you and there are different theories about this. Realize that in most states it is illegal to consume raw dairy, check your State to confirm if it is legal in your state or not. But Bill Clinton was looking to reverse his heart problem so for him a vegan diet was a really good diet to choose from. Do you see how he lost 24 pounds!!! Isn't that amazing? This is totally possible on a whole foods vegan diet. The only mother you should get your milk from is your own and I'm sure you haven't done that for quite some time. We are the only species that still drinks milk after the first few years of life. And unfortunately most babies aren't even getting that, they are getting "formula" milk. Man will never be able to outsmart nature. But this is another whole entire subject. Research has shown that milk may not do a body good. According to some experts it actually leaches calcium out of our bones. Why do we have one of the highest osteoporosis rates in world, yet we eat the most dairy? Something doesn't quite add up. Stop believing everything your told and find out for yourself what evolution is telling us. We are not always right about things. Could some of it be the lobbying groups that pay big money to be where they are? Man there I go again on my tangent. There are other milks that one can consume if you must have it. My family changed from Cows milk to soy, then from soy to store-bought almond milk, then to rice milk. There are many days where we don't drink milk at all. I also sometimes make my own almond milk, which is really easy.
Eat your fruits and vegetables and go organic whenever possible. There are so many reasons to do this. The one that comes to mind immediately for me is the fact that there are thousands of phytochemicals that are in fruits and vegetables that you cannot get in a man-made supplement. We seem to be trying to find the easy way out of the most basic principle of eating foods that are in harmony with our bodies. If you are going to do supplements do your homework. It is better to use a whole food supplement and make sure that they are excipient free.
Nuts and Seeds are a good replacement for the meats but they pack a large calorie punch so eat them as a side.
Beans and Legumes used to be considered the poor mans protein, now it's the rich that are eating these.
Whole Grains - don't just stick to the normal everyday fare try new things that have been around way longer than rice and pasta. There are incredible whole grains such as Quinoa, Spelt, Kamut, Amaranth to name a few. I use Quinoa a lot as a replacement for rice. You can cook it just like rice and it is a complete protein. I am learning to use the others in our cooking as we go. The kids are not too excited about it so the best thing to do is add 1/2 and 1/2 to your rice so that they learn how to acquire a taste for it. Since I learned as I went, my son was exposed to it at a much earlier age so he likes it more. So remember it's all about exposure. The more it's around the more they will learn to eat it and like it.
So there you have it another verification that vegan living is much healthier for you as an individual and as a global community. As always it is your choice so make your choices through education and experimentation. Good Luck!!
