Ricky Gervais Tickets Another Season of the Ricky Gervais Show!

When Ricky Gervais is in town, there's usually not a dry eye in the house - and these aren't tears of sadness. The Office funnyman has audience members in stitches every time he stars on the big screen as well as on the stage. The most recent news involving the British comedian is that The Ricky Gervais Show is being granted a second season.

The program is actually based on Gervais' podcast recordings alongside Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. According to Reuters, the three discuss a broad range of topics - everything from donating funds to charities, the awkwardness of public nudity and choosing the best superpowers. The Ricky Gervais Show airs on HBO, so be sure to tune in next time and also reserve your spot to see him live by going to http://www.stubhub.com and getting Ricky Gervais tickets today!

In other Gervais news, he is currently starring in a new film called Cemetery Junction, which NME.com describes as "a warm, affectionate, sweet-natured, and a genuinely uplifting coming-of-age drama set in the 1970s." It may seem completely out of character for the witty, wise-cracking Gervais, but NME also has a good description of what you can expect from the movie; "Cemetery Junction becomes a drama, looking forward, with the laughs sprinkled on top. It's The Office in reverse."

Gervais is also collaborating with Merchant on a new television series, giving an interview to the Telegraph saying, "[Merchant and I are] writing a sitcom together, written and directed by us and it's called Life's Too Short and it features Warwick Davis. It's a cross between Extras and Curb Your Enthusiasm and One Foot in the Grave but with a dwarf. That is out and out funny."

Comedian Ricky Gervais first gained notable fame with his popular television series The Office and follow-up series the Extras, both programs that he collaborated on with Stephen Merchant. The Office premiered in the UK in late summer 2001, but surprisingly didn't attract much attention at first. The following year, however, it topped the BBC Two ratings.

After completion of The Office, Gervais turned his attention toward another television program, Extras, which features him portraying a background artist named Andy Millman. The show won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2008.

Gervais is also known for his stand-up comedy performances around the world as well as his roles in several big-name movies in Night at the Museum, Ghost Town and The Invention of Lying. Although he is perhaps best known for his work on The Office, he continues to leave his mark on various other projects in the television and film realm, as well as with live shows.

His latest work on Cemetery Junction is a testament to the fact that he's able to transcend genres, taking part on several projects ranging from comedy to drama. His live shows, however, are sure to leave you giggling. Get ready to laugh out loud when Gervais schedules a show at a venue near you.
