Sasquatch Music Festival Tickets Headliners to look for in 2010

Since 2002, music fans from all over the country have been descending on the town of George, Wash.no, that's not a joke, that's its real namefor the Sasquatch Music Festival. It's become known as one of the hottest summer music festivals of all, attracting indie-rock mainstays as well as up-and-coming bands to its stages and even bringing in live stand-up comedy, as well. In 2010, you can expect the lineup for Sasquatch to be extraordinarily exciting, with bands like MGMT, Ween, Pavement, Vampire Weekend and more appearing on stage.

Let's take a look at some of the headliners that are going to draw the biggest crowds at this year's Sasquatch Music Festival.

MGMT: The year 2008 belonged to Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Martin Goldwasser, the duo that make up the core of MGMT. Their shimmering, upbeat synth-pop branded them an all-purpose feel-good band, and even the most jaded hipsters found themselves crowding the stage when they were playing festivals. But their newest record may surprise listeners. The band has shed its layers of synth, instead recording a series of stripped-down but still trippy and colorful psych-rock. Be sure to be in attendance at their stage when they play "Flash Delirium," one of the best songs off their new album, Congratulations.

Pavement: The sharp writing and epic indie-rock of Pavement made them superstars in the '90s, and fans were shattered when the band broke up. But time heals all wounds, and the band decided they could try and give it another go in 2009, playing their first show this past March. It would be nice if they stuck around for a while but there are no guarantees, so make sure you catch them on this tour just in case.

LCD Soundsystem: So far, every single release by LCD Soundsystem has turned out to be a hit with both critics and general listeners. Even outside of the outfit's proper full-lengths, James Murphy, the dancefloor ruckus-raiser at the center of LCD Soundsystem, manages to attract a buzz: He released a kind of jogger's soundtrack called 45:33 (the name being the exact length of the song) and still earned high marks from critics. He is attracting extra attention this year with the release of yet another Soundsystem LP, This is Happening. One track, "Drunk Girls," has already started floating around the Internet, exhibiting his blend of sardonic humor and hip disco rock. Be ready to get sweaty when he takes the stage.

Vampire Weekend: It goes without saying that Vampire Weekend is going to be one of the most hotly anticipated bands at the Sasquatch Music Festival. The band has divided critics pretty sharply, but those who are in the loyalist camp are passionate about their love for the band. With their latest record, Contra, they managed to earn an even wider acceptance among more mainstream listeners. Catch them at Sasquatch and sing along to songs like "Horchata."
