what is their education?, do they call in sick often?, what are their competences? In that case you may need a full fledged system, and probably have one employee or human resource professional to maintain the system.

But what if you own a smaller or mid-sized business with a somewhat lower budget and fewer workers? you still have the same need to keep track of your employees information, but do you really have to use an expensive and complex system that does a whole lot more than what you really need, and costs signifficantly more than you can afford?

Sure, to some degree it does what you do need, but probably is does more, that you might not be particularly interested in. Software solutions that do, in effect, too much are a pain since you have to find your way around it to access the features you actually DO need. Another problem is the learning curve wich could be a little steep....a system that requires weeks of training might not be what you are looking for.

There is another possibility and that is just to 'wing it' using a spreadsheet. Problem is that one spreadsheet probably is not nearly enough, and this approuch is limited and error-prone to say the least. In the end you'll be up to your neck in all kinds of loose (or lost) documents, versioning mahem and backup problems. Try to keep somekind of overview...surely this can not be the right solution.

What if there was somekind of golden compromis? A piece of software that let's you keep track of all your workers information in a structured way. What if that solution was in fact very easy to learn and maintain, so you wouldn't need expensive trainingcourses to use it? What if that piece of software came in the form of a website that you (and your co-workers) could access 24 hours a day all year round? What if that system didn't cost you an arm and a leg?

Now there's a system that is tailored especially for mid-sized and smaller companies. Businesses that need to keep track of worker data, but do not need an full fledged enterpise HRM system with it's feature overload. It's called 'simpelHR' and for this moment is available for the dutch market only.
