Painting the best way to express eternity!

Artists and their paintings are a unique breed - able to disappear into a canvass of color and become, seemingly, invincible. Their thoughts, feelings and desires are in the images they paint. We, the average person, look upon the gifts, artists possess and envy the beauty and freedom they have. Many of us long to have the same talents and wish, we too, could escape into the mirrors of art. Artists create a world that only they can understand, brush strokes and imagination, go hand-in-hand and we, the admirer, can only wonder. They laugh at society - these people of paint - knowing they have something that we commoners don't. The magic of art flows from their fingers, taking each man or women to a different dimension. And so the people stand and stare at the gallery walls, looking for answers they know aren't really there. We study the paintings wanting to see the beauty, the elegance and the freedom of thought.

We know that an artist is not bound by society; he or she is able to shun a system that lacks color, a system built on draconian rules and restriction. The artist expresses frustration or happiness in the images created. Indeed the images do speak volumes and we wonder how the artist is able to bring so much thought, feeling and memory into a painting. It truly is an amazing thing. It is as if artists have a special connection to another world's; a place where peace prevails, a place where emotions are accepted, a place where pain doesn't exist and freedom of thought is the norm; a true Utopia. Many of us don't understand when we look at the art displayed on gallery walls, questions like What the hell is this meant to be?; are uttered from the uneducated, the bored and the envious. The artist, standing near, cringes in disbelief and wonders why he or she bothered to display his or her feelings. Finally, someone who understands the artist's work, stands gazing upon the pictures displayed.

Someone who reads the words from the brush and understands the story from the colors and the artist feels happy. Painting, the artist, knows is a gift. He or she can see three dimensionally as the brush moves across the canvass. It is with ease the artist expresses himself or herself, there is no pretense and no ego to please, just the gift that many of us can't see. The artist is indeed a unique breed, his or her life in spent in a kaleidoscope of color and cloth. The artist disappears into a world of imagination. Painting is truly the best way to express eternity.
