The common features of Nokia 2730 Classic and Nokia 2220 Slide are camera phones featuring video recording, but without secondary camera and provision of LED Flash. The Predictive Text, calendar and MP3 player is also common. The first visible difference comes on the form of the two the set 2220 is a slider, whereas 2730 is a block phone. Classic fares in screen for 2.0 inches with capacity of analysing 256 K colours in comparison to Slide's 1.8 inches screen of 65K colours. However, both have TFT screen, but Classic screen is of 240 x 320 pixels whereas Slide screen is of 128 x 160 pixels.

Nokia 2730 Classic is a set featuring both 2G and 3G Networks; the 2G capacity is competent for GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900. In comparison, Nokia 2220 Slide is a 2G set limited to GSM 900/ 1800. Nokia 2730 Classic holds 30MB internal memory, which is expandable up to 2GB with microSD. However, the internal memory of 2220 Slide is limited to 32 MB without provision of expansion.

In the features of Networking, GPRS set of class 32 and FDGE class 32, and absence of WLAN are a common to both the sets; 2730 Classic is a Bluetooth enabled set, but the feature is absent in 2220 Slide. Nokia 2220 Slide is supported with an additional feature of FM recording, which is missing from Nokia 2730 Classic despite Stereo FM radio facility being equal in both.
