When getting your first car, it's common for people to want to play with it. Useless add-ons and decorations that people don't really need, and teenagers often end up regretting 5 years later. To follow are some of the things that you really don't need to add on to your car, that I find particularly unnecessary. A Spoiler (a REALLY REALLY large spoiler)
Personally, I'm not against a spoiler. I think that a REASONABLY sized spoiler adds a sporty look to your vehicle. However, I do not like when the wing is larger than the car. Why on earth is that necessary? If the wing makes your car a foot taller, you really don't need to be throwing that on the back of your poor car! Exhaust Tips
Again, in my opinion, I don't see a need for your car to sound like it doesn't have a muffler. I get it, you want to be noticed but do you really need the attention in your '99 Civic? No thanks. Under Effects/Ground Effects
Again, I get it, you want your car to look cool. I do not think that under effects look cool. Spending the money to have these fancy lights installed (that you don't even get to see) doesn't seem worth it to me. Add-on Decorations/Decals
Have you ever seen a Ford Taurus with a BMW emblem on it? I have. Tell me you don't find that one a little over the top?! When purchasing add-ons for your car, I think they should be more about function than decoration. And if you really want something decorative, why not get a fancy paint job, or some after-market headlights? While I agree that it's nice to have your used car stand out, I think the understated looks are the ones that have a bigger impact.
