You have paper and pen in hand, and a full length essays idea in mind; or you are sitting in front of the computer and ready to go "tap tap", but there is just one problem, where to start and where to end? I think there is a term called as having a "Writer's Block". No worries, everyone starts from a small step, and afterwards learns to run.
First Step: Get started early.
As a beginner in essays writing world, don't think that you will be able to write everything in the nick of time. Last moment writing leads to confusion of thoughts and errors, and even with a bad grade. You never know that you might get busy in the future with some tasks like assignments, social gatherings etc and even a visit from a disease. Starring early will give you plenty of time to add even more points that you might have missed of omitting the mistakes.
Second Step: Brainstorming and Research
Read and re-read the topic so that you can intently and fully understand the meaning behind the essay. Then research to see what points you can find, but be sure not to go overboard because too much information gathering will only cause confusion and tension. Gather information and then filter out what is needed and what is not. If the topic is related to your personal experience then brainstorm what points you can write.
Third Step: Rough essays Draft
Now that the appropriate essays materials have been gathered, you need to start everything roughly, don't start directly because as a beginner, you might need to add some few points or omit some later on. Make a beginning as to why you are writing this essay, what do you or the research has to say about it, then make the middle part where you can explain in further detail what is the topic all about, then conclude with your opinion.
Below is an example of a Rough Draft: What is Social Media
Introduction: Definition of Social Media, its past and present
Middle: Examples, Impact on society, Advantages and Disadvantages
Ending: Future of Social Media and its growing need in the society
Fourth Step: Sample Research.
If still having problem with writing the finale, then look at other essays and see what they have, what not etc and note how the flow of the essay is going from the beginning to the ending. Most writers write essays like a story, filled with original life examples, other give historic facts and research like giving a lecture. You need to know that what level of standard is required out of your essay and how to get to it.
Fifth Step: Getting it Finalized
Now that you have written the rough draft and arranged the data according to paragraph it's time to finalize it, write down everything you have written in neat format and then proof read, edit, and re-check again. Make sure that you haven't copied anyone's material or just twisted some words to fill the essay. In this world plagiarism is treated equally as a crime.
Sixth Step: Relax
Relax and believe that you have done a good job and don't fidget over tiny missing details.
