Whalesong Art have the European license forthe stunning oceanic eco-artwork created from individual whale and dolphin song by Aguasonic Acoustics in San Francisco. The stunningly colourful and detailed imagesare being used on wall canvasses, framed prints and t-shirts.
The renowned 'shape of the sound' artist Mark Fischer has been celebrated inTime Magazine, The New York Post and The Daily Telegraph to name just a few. He explores subeltyand nuance in sound seen as a multi-dimensional energetic expression and given the freedom to emerge through highly tuned lenses designed with mathematics.
Recordings are made using the highest quality equipment available and turned into art using Mark'swavelets process whichis explained in more detail at the Aguasonics website.
Whalesong Art's owner Max Lomax says ' As a surfer for over 30 years I have been very lucky to have shared the waves with dolphins and the joy of that experience never, ever leaves you. A pod of dolphins swam past so close in Western Australia that I could smell the fish they had just feasted on from the air being expelled from their blowholes. It was great until an Aussie surfer explained that there were probably sharks swimming below the dolphins, feeding off any scraps.'
The art createdfrom these creatures is fantastic not only for bringing tolife any wall space that could use cheering up but also for sparking comment and hence conversation through which to bring awareness to the plight of whales and dolphins. Each individual can then decide how involved in any campaign they wish to become. Whalesong Art will donate 1% of all turnover to The Sea Shepherd organisation who have most recently been credited with hounding the Japanese whaling fleet back to port with a much reduced number of kills on board.
