Fire Safety in our Homes

WAKE-UP EVERYONE THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU

I have chosen to place this here at How to Grand-parenting because I had a chilling experience watching a house fire.

Repeatedly, we see newscasts or read articles regarding tragic deaths or injuries when a fire occurs and our hearts go out to the people involved. As long as it doesn't apply to us personally, by the next day we have moved on. BUT, for those who are going through this tragedy often their lives will never be the same.

Does a deadly disaster have to happen to us before we get upset enough to employ the safest, most efficient way to save LIVES. This could be you or me. Ask yourself this question how do I save myself and my family from a deadly fire?'Please don't think it couldn't happen, ask anyone who has gone through it.

The Fire Safety Codes in buildings/hi-rises that do not include Fire Safe Sprinklers report that if the fire itself is not extinguished the intense smoke will kill in hallways and in the stairwells. Ask any Firefighter how he feels regarding Fire Safe Sprinklers.

Often the cost of a Sprinkler System comes up during discussions regarding safety How much would you spend for the return of a loved one? Sure, the things' that you have will get wet, but they can be replaced, you can't replace the one you love.

If you're in doubt about the efficiency of a Sprinkler System please visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXZQWQfI1iU. There is an actual demonstration of a home about to be overtaken by fire. Take a look at the difference of using a smoke detector and having a sprinkler head installed. T I M E ! Could you get out before either the smoke or fire overtook your home?

I am not a Firefighter or a Sprinkler Fitter, I am just someone who can't understand that if there is a way to save lives and make a Firefighter's job easier why don't we use it?
