News from around HP and its new code named Hurricane" tablet means that the HP windows 7 based tablet is now dead and long gone. The idea was decidedly finished when HP made a deal with palm for $1.2 billion; it now has plans underway for the new better tablet also known as Hp with Palm OS. It is said that the new Hurricane' tablet will be a much more worthy competitor against Apple. Exact specifications for the device have not been released yet, but some information has been made publicly available to date. HP will have an undeniable leverage with the fact that it is a well respected company in the technology business niche, and also has huge global enterprise distribution, having already established relationship with most major corporations.
With a previously scraped model, due to the slow running time, many people have begun to wonder. Others are speculating that it is the slow everything' that made them close the windows 7 project. The Palm OS should solve that problem. Palm OS does have its own app store however it is incomparable to Apple. For the HP tablet to really take off, app developers would have to get busy to cater for the already demanding market out there. Apple currently has over 200 000 apps- Quite some catching up there. The new HP Tablet will include Adobe, which is already a plus, that Apple hasn't quite come to grips with. Apparently Palm OS are currently working with Adobe to create flash for the tablet. This would mean huge competition for other tablets if they can get it right. Of course, all extras that are found on other tablets are also speculated. One fanatic edition should be the dual camera option. It is worth questioning however if HP are advanced enough to make the tablet lightweight and slim, despite the cameras. For professionals this is an important attribute and all tablets will be contending on this frontier. Palm OS have designed a multi-touch operating system, putting the tablet up there with the others.
The HP Hurricane is being seen as a definite competitor to Apple. They seem to have caught on to the fact that Apples I Pad is far more than a glamorized notebook. The Palm OS creates a much more interesting experience for customers.
