1) MIX IT UP:- One of the main reasons people find jogging boring is that it is quite slow paced and performed for long periods. Sometimes a long run can seem like it is never going to end. However, if you mix it up jogging becomes a lot more interesting. There are a number of ways you can mix it up. One of my favourites is to throw in some sprints by jogging for two minutes and then sprinting for one minute. Another good way to add some variety is to stop every five or ten minutes and do some alternative exercises such as pull ups, press ups, sit ups and stretches.
2) USE WEIGHTS:- Using weights adds some resistance to your run and makes it much more challenging and intense than a normal jog. It can help you build strength as you jog and also help increase your top speed as you get used to jogging with the the additional weight. There are a number of options when it comes to using weights whilst you jog. One of my favourite methods is to place bottles of water in a rucksack and wear this whilst I run. You can also wear ankle and wrist weights. There are also weighted vests available that can be worn whilst you jog.
3) LISTEN TO MUSIC:- Music can really help raise your interest level when performing an activity that you do not enjoy that much. So if jogging is not your favourite exercise try doing it along to some music. You will be surprised at how much more enjoyable it becomes. As you listen to your favourite tunes the time will fly by and before you know it you will have jogged a good few miles. Plus, it is likely to be one of the few opportunities you have during the day to actually devote to listening to music.
