subject: New Eyes For The New Year! [print this page]

'New Years Resolutions' are a bit part of the changeover from one year to another. There are so many people out there talking about how they want to get fit this year, lose weight, take better care of themselves and their families. The truth is, if there was ever a time to get motivated and start, this is it! Being surrounded by other determined individuals to make a big change in your life can be very helpful and inspiring. So what are you looking to do in 2013 thats different than before? Are you also looking to make big changes to your life, or your familys? If youre thinking of other suggestions on what makes a difference, look no further...than your own eyes!

Our eyes are incredibly important, and so very often get overlooked - ironically enough. We are always so quick to jump on the newest diet fad, or workout trend - or even the ever changing fashion styles. However, oftentimes our actual health needs are not met. If, for instance, your eyeglasses prescription has not changed in twenty years, you may feel that updating it regularly is a waste of time - or worse, perhaps you dont make the extra effort to update you actual glasses. Keeping all of your general health needs up-to-date is extremely crucial for living a healthy life. One thing that is often overlooked though, is that the health of our eyes usually make quite an impact on the rest of our bodies...

Typically eyeglasses prescriptions are good, and valid for two full years - unless stated otherwise by the ophthalmologist or optometrist, or written on the prescription itself. However, a generic rule is that it can be used between one to two years. Oftentimes, even after those two years there are slim to no changes in your eyesight, and prescription needs; however, it is still highly recommended to make a new appointment just in case. On top of the possibility of a change in your eyesight, an even bigger probability is that your glasses are just too old at that point. The biggest worry of wearing an old prescription, or glasses, is that any slight discrepancy can cause severe headaches, and eventual changes to your eyesight. For instance, if you have a slight crack in your lenses: besides it being annoying for your daily vision needs, your eyes may form to it and then worsen because of it.

If youve recently obtained your new eyeglasses prescription and are looking exactly where to take your business, try checking out the online retailers. You might be thinking its a bit strange to order glasses online, but actually the amount of available, affordable, high quality eye glasses online is very vast. You can generally buy just about anything online these days, but eyeglasses arent actually as complicated to get over the internet as you may suspect. Either way, its truly important to put your eyes first! Happy New Year!
