There are both KSRTC (Karnataka Transport) and SETC (Tamil Nadu Transport) service operated buses plying between Ooty and Mysore. This hill town has a railway station that connects with Mettupalyam. Mettupalyam is 47 km from Ooty. A narrow gauge line connects Ooty to Mettupalyam which from where one travel by any other passenger or express train from Mettupalyam to Mysore by train.
