One can reach Mysore from Ooty by road. The distance between Ooty and Mysore is 127 km. It takes about 5 hours and 20 minutes to travel from Ooty to Mysore. There are both KSRTC (Karnataka Transport) and SETC (Tamil Nadu Transport) service operated buses plying between Ooty and Mysore. Other than the government operated buses, there are private buses as well.
This hill town has a railway station that connects with Mettupalyam. Mettupalyam is 47 km from Ooty. A narrow gauge line connects Ooty to Mettupalyam which from where one travel by any other passenger or express train from Mettupalyam to Mysore by train.
