The first route is by the NH2 wherein one has to drive via Kanpur Etawah Firozabad Agra Faridabad Badrapur to finally reach Delhi. The journey on this route takes about nine hours. The alternate route is on the NH24. One has to start from Lucknow and drive via Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad to finally arrive at Delhi. On this route it takes about ten hours. The first route is the more popular one.

The roads from Lucknow to Delhi have various facilities like hotels and dhabas which have clean rest rooms and also offer good food for the convenience of travelers.

One can also travel from Lucknow to Delhi by a private or UPSRTC (state transport) bus which conducts daily services. These buses come in various types like the AC or Non AC Seater or Sleeper and Volvo Multi Axle AC. The cost of a bus ticket ranges from Rs 850 to Rs1300.

If affordable, you can also book a private taxi from Lucknow to Delhi and the rental charges for a round trip start from Rs 7000 upwards.

It is definitely much more comfortable and faster to travel by train from Lucknow to Delhi as there are many trains on this route. The Lucknow Delhi Shatabdi Express (12003) departs from Lucknow at 15.35 hours and arrives at Delhi at 22.05 hours. The Biweekly Dibrugarh New Delhi Rajdhani leaves Lucknow at 06.10 hours and arrives at Delhi at 13.45 hours.
