subject: Some Of The Commonly Used Industrial Rubber Products [print this page]

Rubber, owing to its unique chemical and physical properties, has been in use from prehistoric period and nowadays too finds a large number of applications in different industrial sectors. A variety of products such as hoses, mats, belts and several consumer items are made from Rubber and serve varied purposes. This write-up contains brief information about some of the commonly used Industrial Rubber Products such as Rubber Bushes, Rubber Gaskets, Rubber O Rings, etc.

Rubber Bushes:

Commonly used in vehicle suspension systems, Rubber Bushes are vibration isolators. The Rubber Bushes come in different sizes and are responsible for reducing noise and vibration in a particular device or system. The major benefit of Rubber Bushes is that they almost need no lubrication. Rubber Bushes can be used in different types of vehicles.

Rubber Dampers:

As is evident from the name, Rubber Dampers are important from the viewpoint of shock absorption in vehicles. The Rubber Dampers can also be used to prevent harness, vibration and noise in machinery and automobiles. For specific application Rubber Dampers come in varied standardized sizes. Besides, the Rubber Dampers are also customized as per requirement.

Rubber Gaskets

Rubber Gaskets are widely used Industrial Rubber Products. In general, Rubber Gaskets are required for fastening threaded fittings and connections. Rubber Gaskets come in varied sizes and densities. For instance, certain Rubber Gaskets can be used in the form of rings. These Rubber Gaskets can be used between the opening of a container and its lid so that airtight sealing can be ensured. The Rubber Gaskets find application in different industries, especially the automotive industry.

Rubber O Rings:

Rubber O Rings, also called Toric Joints, are mechanical gaskets. Usually available in the shape of torus, the Rubber O Rings act as seal for two or more parts. The Rubber O Rings can be used in hydraulic cylinder pistons and revolving pump shafts. The Rubber O rings are pressure resistant and can be used in varied mechanical applications.
