subject: Allow Complex Ideas To Be Broken Into Easily Understood Messages [print this page]

Corporate communication is trickyCorporate communication is tricky. It is immaterial whether you need to communicate with your prospective clients or customers; with suppliers or even your own personnel. The message should be succinct and easy to comprehend. Miscommunication can be disastrous anywhere; but especially in the work sphere. Therefore, when you plan creating any kind of corporate film and video you must carefully think out what is the message you really want to send out. Are you trying to create an image of a company that uses cutting edge technology? Or do you want to be thought of a caring corporate which accepts its responsibility to society at large, to the environment as much as towards its customers and employees?

Some of the other things to be kept in mind include the purpose; the budget; the means of distribution. How you go about corporate film production will depend on all these and more. You could be creating something for simple informational purpose to announce the launch of new product/s or service/s; or as a newly started company to inform people of your existence; inform people of a change of guard. On the other hand, the film or video might have to play some crucial role as training and marketing tool. Basically corporate video production consists of official communication, training and education, videotaping conferences and conventions and sales. Many things are covered into one big field.

While developing the story and script for you film or video keep in mind the budget. If you visualize something grand which requires special effects, shooting at different locales, celebrity endorsement, hi-tech shooting but have a small to average budget, then your planning will come to naught. Therefore, do some groundwork on how much various things like voiceovers, graphics, pie charts etc cost vis--vis special effects, animation and special lighting. The story you tell should be able to garner the interest of your target audience. Dont get misled by the pundits. People still appreciate a simple story told in a simple manner as long as the message is a powerful one.
