Vijayawada, located in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh is situated on the banks of the Krishna River. Hyderabad is located at a distance of 274 km from Vijayawada on the NH9. This is a very busy route and from Vijayawada one has to drive via Kilesapuram, Nandigama, Jaggiahpet and Kodad to reach Suryapet. From Suryapet continue driving on the SH151 via Chouttapal and Vanasthalipuram to finally reach Hyderabad. This journey takes about 6 hours.

The roads from Vijayawada to Hyderabad have various facilities like petrol pumps and hotels with clean wash rooms for your convenience.

There are many APSRTC (State transport) and private buses which ply from Vijayawada to Hyderabad. These buses come under different categories like Non AC Seater, Non AC Hitech, AC Airbus (2x2), AC Sleeper, Volvo AC and Multi Axle AC. The cost of a seat ranges from Rs 300 to Rs 700 depending upon the type of bus and the journey takes about 7-8 hours.

One can also hire a cab from Vijayawada to Hyderabad; the rental charges for a round trip being about Rs 5000 upwards.

Hyderabad is connected to Viaywada by the railways. Train journey is easier, faster and more comfortable than travel by bus. There are many trains from Vijayawada to Hyderabad; some of them are Narsapur Hyderabad Express (17255), Guntur Secunderabad Intercity (12705), Vishakhapatanam Secunderabad Garib Rath (12739) and the Machilipatanam Secunderabad Express (17049).

The best way to travel from Vijayawada to Hyderabad is by air as the flight time is only about one hour and there are many airlines which operate on this sector. The airfare is about Rs 2500 upwards. One can easily book a ticket from any of the various net portals.
