subject: The Originators Of Mercedes Benz [print this page] There was more than one person behind the creation of Mercedes Benz luxury autos and the automotive manufacturer that produces them. In fact, there were multiple personalities behind the birth of these well-known vehicles. There were at least five people who made major contributions to the globally respected vehicles known for superior craftsmanship and design.
One person who contributed was its namesake, Adrienne Manuela Ramona Jellinek, who was nicknamed Mercedes. Benz was the last name of one of the creators whose first name was Karl. The other three important individuals behind the original creation were Gottlieb Daimler, Emil Jellinek, and Wilhelm Maybach. These individuals lived in Europe, specifically Germany and Austria, during the late 1800's and early 1900's.
Adrienne Manuela Ramona Jellinek was the daughter of Emil Jellinek. Adrienne was a singer who sang soprano. She was initially wed to a respectable Baron and gave birth to two children. Eventually, the marriage dissolved due to financial strain caused by World War I, and she married for the second time to a sculptor who was so poor that Adrienne had to beg for food. Her father, Emil Jellinek was a rich entrepreneur who was a member of the board of an early automotive company of Daimler's called DMG. Jellinkek was born into a wealthy family, was a practical joker, and had a mustache that curled up at either side. He helped perfect an engine and car that was designed by Wilhelm Maybach and Gottlieb Daimler.
Wilhelm Maybach was an engine designer who joined forces with Daimler to create amazingly well crafted vehicles, which eventually led to the Mercedes Benz. Their engines powered an array of vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, boats, and airplanes. These machines were known for being powerful, light, and had fast internal combustion systems.
Another brain behind the Mercedes, Benz was the last name of a German engineer who designed engines and cars. Karl was his first name. He invented the first automobile that was fueled with gasoline. He also invented and patented speed regulators, ignition systems, batteries, spark plugs, carburetors, clutches, radiators and gearshifts. He married Bertha Ring in 1872 and they had five children.
Mercedes Benz has retained its golden reputation over the years. The automotive company came into the world strong because of a team of creative engineers, entrepreneurs and artisans. These individuals brought forth the vehicles through trial and discovery, through following their hearts, by using their talents, and through perseverance to press through until they achieved success. All of these individuals had failures, trials, and tribulations on the road to birthing this automobile but they didn't give up. The vehicles that came as a result are still going strong today.
