Should Real Estate Agents Use Sex To Sell?

Many online entrepreneurs and content providers would agree that sex really sells across the Internet. Perhaps, it could be the right time real estate agents use it to their advantage. What is meant here is that real estate marketing should use sexy pictures and models to help ramp up interest in properties that are being advertised. Do you remember those times when tobacco and liquor industries hired sexy women clad in the skimpiest bikinis to endorse products? Perhaps, that outdated idea could be revived, but this time to further heat up people's interest towards real estate.

Could sex help sell real estate? You might have heard of several cases or instances wherein a property agent has been sacked or forced to resign due to his insistence to stick to a proposal to use sexy men and women in advertising properties. You could expect more of such things to happen these days. You see, most agents are motivated and highly creative these days. Add the fact that the Internet is less censored and monitored by regulators. Real estate ads could gain more interest and popularity if there would be sexy models in the sexiest outfits posing for ads.

There is much debate whether brokers would allow agents to do so. Nobody or no law prohibits any broker or property firm to use creativity in advertising and marketing assets for sale. It is the sole discretion of the brokers and other concerned parties whether they would tolerate or allow such thing to happen. Of course, public opinion could be divided in this issue. Let us take a closer look at the perks and setbacks of using sexiness in advertising and marketing real estate.

There was an online study that indicated that up to 80% of home-purchasing decisions are actually made by women. Wives have a say on which houses their husbands or families would buy. In that case, how could a real estate ad featuring a sexy lady model is skimpy bikini appeal to them? Some real estate agents have already used their creativity---they started using ads featuring men to appease women buyers. Of course, those featuring sexy women in ads would mostly appeal to men buyers. Many agents and marketers now attest that the strategy really works.

For the advantage, creativity counts. Many property agents are now online, attempting to outpace and outperform each other. By using sexy images of men and women, these agents surely are making their ads more interesting and more attention catching. Adults would surely get enticed. Ultimately, though, reputation is of ultimate importance for real estate agents, and using sex to sell is considered tacky at best. While it may generate more attention in the short term, it would likely do long term damage to the agent and their company. Not to mention, the agent may end up self selecting a less desirable group of clients, who value tacky ads over professionalism and expertise.
