No. 436/1978-79 and is recognised by Department of Education, Government of Rajasthan upto 12th standard. This is the only institute for girls with hostel facility in Rajasthan. The school is up to senior secondary level for blind. All the teachers many of whom are even blind also are well trained and highly qualified. The results of 10th and 12th Board exams have always been maintained at 100% since beginning of school. The Students of the school have been awarded several times Medals and Prizes not only at National, State and District level but also at International level in the field of various Education, Sports and Music competitions.
Society for Development of the Blind ( Indian Blind School)
Human body is very important and invaluable in one"s life. Eyes are the most precious amongst the different organ. Absence of eyes, these people face many difficulties in their whole life. Imagine the life one has to live without seeing the beauty of rising sun, deprivedof enjoyment of observing the beauty of blooming flowers and even unable to see the face of his mother.
Here one can truly realize Rajasthan proverb "The wearer knows where the shoe pinches."It is well said that there can not be any kith and kin of a blind person,they want his intellectual eyes developed otherwise in absence of it they have to be fully dependent for every routine work upon others. No one can provide eyes to the blind but proper training can make them self-reliant and self- dependent. Realizing the painful sufferings of the blind this Sansthan (Society) was started, with 2 children on 15th August 1977 in Suncity, Jodhpur. It has its own constitution and also anyone giving help to this society will enjoy exemption from income tax under 80-G.
Aims of the society (Netraheen Vikas Sansthan)
To provide education and training to blind boys and girls, Make arrangements for Rehabilitation and efforts are made to make available the facilities provided by the govt. to these blind children.
To establish Braille press, library and cassette library for the blind
To arrange for the treatment to those, whose eyes are worth for treatment and also to provide guidance in this field.
To arrange seminars and workshops on the problems of the blind.
To arrange special surveys on the blind persons and try to solve their problems with the help of Government and the society.
To establish them in self employment by giving training in cottage industries.
To undertake all those tasks this may be related with the development and growth of intellectual eyes in the blind.
Braille Printing Machine
The school has imported special Braille printing machine from Sweden in the year 2001 with the help of funds given by the British High Commissioner & Member of Parliament Late Dr.L.M.Singhvi . The machine is very useful for converting books of normal text matter into Braille script which is used by all the students for their schooling.
AudioRecordingFacility
There are three mode of teaching to blind students mainly teaching in class room , secondly through Braille books and lastly by giving them audio cassettes on different subjects which they can hear later on to revise the course contents taught in the class room .There are 2768 recorded cassettes of different subject available as on date . The dubbing is done in school's Computer lab only with the latest equipments.

Regular cooking & hobby classes are conducted for blind girls to make them self dependent.
YogaClasses
The school also started yoga clases after the visit of famous Yoga Guru Baba Ramdeo in the school. To keep the students physically fit, time to time Yoga camps are organised by the school.
SpiritualCamp
To improve the moral character of students and to keep them away from the bad habits like tobacco eating, smoking and drinking etc. various lectures are organised at frequent intervals by famous saints and spiritual teachers of different religion to give them moral education and to teach them the importance of relationship of mind, soul and body.
Deaf & Dumb , Mentally Retarded and Blind Unit
A multi purpose disabled unit namely Acharya Hasti multipurpose disable unit was started on 15th August 2006 in association with Department of Social Welfare, Government of Rajasthan for rehabilitation of deaf & dumb, mentally retarded and blind students with 25 students. At present there are total 60 students who are provided free lodging. Boarding and education. There are three trained teachers & physiotherapists to teach them by aid of Hearing machines and various other necessary equipments. The students are trained in making Photo Frames, Canning of Chairs, Painting and Sewing work also.
School Uniform
School uniform is also provided to all the students by the institution.
