I am not a Salman Khan fan, but if action movies are the subject and I don't mentionDabangg, it would be unfair. It was the movie, which got the genre back into the spot light and how! The movie appealed to the young generation due to the action scenes coupled with Khan's characteristic sense of humour and his 'macho man' like image. This movie received negative reviews, but you should not forget that he is Salman Khan!He can sell a movie simply on his name.
A movie that made me curl up in my seat was Ghajini. Some scenes were simply painful to watch. There was too much blood and gore. There was a foreboding feel to the movie. I had watched this film with my friend and she had shut her eyes during some scenes. You can imagine the power of the action scenes.Aamir Khan's perfection was commendable. He also got the concept of eight packs in vogue.

2012 started with 'Agneepath'. The remake was high on the action quotient. HrithikRoshan ventured into the hard-core action flick domain with this movie. He did a splendid job. I really enjoyed watching the movie. All the elements of the movie were perfect. Sanjay Dutt was menacing in his role as KanchaCheena. This movie was a fitting tribute to the original.
Mani Ratnam's 'Yuva' was an impressive work. It was different from the films, which were being made. In this movie, AbhishekBachchan truly shines in his performance as Lallan. It was one of his finest movies. In spite of the action scenes, the movie had a soul. Movie watchers connected to it. This is the magic of a Mani Ratnam movie. The movie played a role in accelerating Bachchan's career, which again needs such a flick.
'Deewar', which was made in the recent times, was not a complete action flick, but the movie had its moments. I thought the romance angle did not fit well with the entire story. This movie appealed to me due to the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and K.K.Menon. They gave remarkable performances and held the movie. Without their presence, the movie would have faded into oblivion.

Ajay Devgan is an awesome actor! He proves his 'awesomeness' in 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai.' His portrayal of Haji Mastan was brilliant. The movie had other elements as well, but it was not looking out of place. It was a complete entertainment package. Yet, some people did not appreciate this movie. This film was worth all my time and money.

Dhoom(2004) and its sequel in 2006 introduced the element of sleekness in action flicks. In the first movie, the chase scenes on the bike were extremely shot well. Akshay Kumar returned with his famous 'Khiladi' image of the 90s with 'Khiladi 786'. It is disappointing that he does not deliver. I think his time in the previous years as an action hero was really good. This movie is a total disappointment. You want to see the glimpses of the action hero; you should see Akshay Kumar's old films. They were much better than the present crop of movies.

A list of action movies is incomplete without the mention of the iconic Sunny Deol. His 'Dhaai kilo kahaath' created a strong impact. 'Border' is a movie, which I really enjoyed.
