Glasses for white wine come in many shapes, from tall and narrow to wide and shallow. Those which have wide mouths assist with the rapid oxidation process, as with red wines. This suits distinctive flavoured wines. For lighter, more delicate wines oxidation is not necessary. Therefore Smaller mouthed glasses are prefered for these wines. Champagne and other types of sparkling wines require even smaller mouthed glasses. Long and slender champagne flutes decrease the area of wine exposed to the air. The wine will retain its twinkle a lot longer in a glass which is tall and slim than in the broad, shallower variety.

Named after an influential design workshop of the early 20th century, Artel creates that favorite of Central European nobles for the past several hundred years, Bohemian crystal. Updated designs by the young American entrepreneur Karen Feldman turn out unusual vases, glasses, and tumblers that are regularly stocked by aspirational retailers such as Paul Smith, Fortnum & Mason, and Scully & Scully. Although plans are in the works for Artel's own Prague store to open in 2007, the current collection is available to view at the Vinohradska location in Vinohrady by appointment only.

A cheaper alternative to a wine cooler is a wine chiller or tabletop wine cooler which can quickly chill a bottle of wine in just minutes. They usually sell for $25 - $50.
