subject: The 2010 Cannondale Flash Bike Has Arrived! [print this page] The new range of 2010 Cannondale mountain bikes has arrived this year. The bikes now available for purchase are the Cannondale Flash, Rush, Trail and Scapel. The Cannondale Flash has been described as the lightest Hardtail in the world. This bike is described as being a purebred racing machine as it is lighter, stiffer, stronger and faster.
Cannondale for 25 years have been optimizing tubing to improve bike frame performance. The Flash bike frame has a radically different shaped seat tube which is leads to the stiffer frame. The carbon fibre, due to new technology, now runs the length of the frame, minimising the weight but providing maximum torsion rigidity.
The frame alone weighs just 950grams and the overall bike weight is just 16.5lbs (without pedals). The rear tyre is 2.35, which gives lots of mud clearance. Everything about this bikes shouts it is going to be fast.
Reviews of the bike say it has the best power transfer ever experienced on a mountain bike. The Cannondale S.A.V.E features give the bike a very good small bump response compared to other similar bikes.
National marathon mountain bike champion Jeremiah Bishop was quoted to say Unbelievable, I was speechless when I first picked it up. It was amazingly smooth and stable for a bike that light. He went on to say Im looking to ride the Flash Carbon at the national short track championship.
It looks like the Cannondale Research & Development team have used the last 18 month wisely in creating this super lightweight cross country bike.
