subject: Prosthetic Equipments: A True Hope Of Life [print this page]

Prosthetics is a branch of Medical Sciences that studies into a social cause. It si a science that help the people who have lost their body parts. It actually is a technology based science in which scientists study and research on creating artificial body part to help those who have lost their any body parts especially legs, hands, fingers etc. Scientist at their study or research center develop tools and wequipments that make the lives of physically handicapped much easier.

Prosthetics is something very old sciences or thing for the world. Studies reveal that a wooden stick was used as a supporting leg for the firdt time in the ancient Egypt. But now as we live in a techyug, those tools have not only changed their shapes but the style of their make. Surely that wooden tool wouldnt have been a comfortable one but now in this 21st century, our scientist develop very typical and comfortable Prosthetic Equipments. Even if these equipment are not very humane but that are created with a humanitarian cause. These equipments are giving smiles to many people. Now many handicapped (I am not going to use this word again as it pinches me calling someone with this noun) can live free along with this world. They can walk on their own and they can shake hands with their friends as well.

Now the science has taken a leap and we have an option of Customized prosthetic equipments. Now if a person needs such equipments, he can surely go for the custom prosthetics. In this customized thing, one can get specially made their kind of prosthetic equipments.

This has surely given many people, with missing body parts, ample reasons to smile. They can go to their nearby prosthetic research center for the check up and within a few days time, they will be given with their type of custom prosthetic equipment.

Here is a very short story Emma Wilson, who lost her left leg while she was crossing the road near her office on a tragic day in the September, 2011, when a speeding car hit her at its full speed. Although the driver is still serving his Jail term, but after that harsh accident, Emma has lost the hope of life. She was already thinking that shell never be able to walk again. But one of her friends took her to a hospital nearby and applied for the artificial custom prosthetic leg. Within a week, Emma got a call from the hospital that her equipment is ready. She was kept under the doctors vision initially but later on she is now self depended and walk on her own.
