subject: 2012 Worst Dressed Men [print this page]

It is easy to award celebrity icons for those positive contributions to style and fashion however it is much more fun to look at which famous faces have got it very wrong! 2012 was a year of spectacular style misfires with everyone from shamed rap stars to comedians proving that money does not always buy taste. We have scoured the worst dressed lists to come up with the definitive list of worthy worst dressed award winners.

Chris Brown definitely would not win first place in a popularity contest and the same can be said about his questionable fashion choices. 2012 has seen Brown raid the wardrobe of a 14 year old boy, deciding to throw all of the colours of the rainbow into an outfit, topped off with his signature trucker cap. Some of the more memorable outfits have included the infamous padded green gilet over a lime green hoody, possibly a sign that inside all Chris Brown wants is to be a Teenage Mutant Hero Turtle.

Russel Brand may be a world class comedian with a brand new prime time talk show but he has shown this year that Katy Perry took the lions share of style in the divorce. Famously a fan of meditation and yogo, Brand has adopted the look of a wayward magician lost wandering the streets of LA. From capes to strings of beads and even a trident, there is quirky style and then there is someone taking themselves a little too seriously.

As one half of one of Americas biggest power couples, Kanye West has tried hard to establish himself as a style icon. His attempts to tone down Kim Kardashians wardrobe have not gone unnoticed mainly due to the fact that it left many of us wondering why he hasnt looked at his own questionable style. Who can forget the image of Kanye strolling along the streets in a full length, oversized fur coat? We had all but forgiven you for your love for pointless grid shades Kanye, who knows what the year 2013, will bring.

If 2012 was the year of male celebrities experimenting with their personal style, we can only hope that 2013 will bring about a return to classic designer menswear style. Big trends for 2013 include more bold prints, studs and classic tailoring, a fantastic combination when pulled off correctly. Take heed from these wayward celebrities and take care with your wardrobe choices next year.
