subject: Apple Is Yet To Prove Its Mark With Iphone 5 [print this page]

Although the touch screen seems fairly exhausted and with the voice input is the next technology already exists. But this is not nearly as precise and easy to use as the finger - or the digital pen, which is not long since replaced. HMDs are the logical next step, but they are not yet sufficiently developed. The touch screen as a display and input interface appears indispensable for the foreseeable future.

No matter what form they may therefore have: smartphones are technically not so advanced that they can be taken for granted. This is especially true for the iPhone 5 because that does not even begin to accommodate everything that is feasible today. Neither it has an NFC chip, nor is it wirelessly chargeable. Apple has the techniques for which it has chosen to simply put no more than elegant.

Also the culture change, which Apple has said with the launch of first iPhone, is by no means complete, so in some respects it has not even started yet. Where high-speed data transfer is possible, thanks to smart phones, the internet is ubiquitous - and global communication, information and publication in real time. Not to mention the consumer have been subject to more localized advertising practically than ever before. Personalised selling experiences have been more experimental in nature.

Not least, smartphones are still products to rich people. The iPhone 5 is the best example; it is sold in Europe at a price around $700 and upwards. And the price takes a few more dollars since the leads and port-cables for the latest iPhone are different than those before. For "normal" mobile phones are less and less and the former market leader Nokia is in bad shape. But the "dumb" phones still remain the standard for a lot of people.

So far, there is only speculation, of course, because no one has really taken apart an iPhone 5, but analysts are not usually so wrong with insights. When listing the cost of the iPhone 5 when compared with the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 to arrive at a basic price of $ 167.50, which is about 128 Euros. The net-profit margin has thus increased again many folds.

As long as this remains the case, the so-called digital divide deepening smartphones, instead of helping them to overcome him. So they can do that, they need to be suitable for everyday use and cheaper. Waiting and hoping for the perfect tool for the era of the mobile Internet will continue so for a while.
