Introduction to websites for algebra:

Through websites, we can easily solve the algebra problems. At present, there are many websites available for algebra. Suppose, If a student can have any trouble in solving an equation, he can connect to an algebra tutor and can get immediate solutions for his/her problems. Some of the useful websites for algebra include Tutor Vista and Tutor Next. In this article websites for algebra, we are going to discuss few algebra problems.

Worked Examples for Websites for Algebra:

Example 1:

Solve the following equation using quadratic formula:

x2 - 10x + 24 = 0

Solution:

Identify a, b and c

a = 1, b = -10 and c = +24

Quadratic formula is' X = (-b +- sqrt (b^2 - 4ac))/ (2a)'

substitute the a, b and c values in quadratic formula

'x' = ' (-(-10)+ sqrt((-10)^2 -4(1)(24)))/(2 xx 1) '

'x' = '(-(-10)- sqrt((-10)^2 -4(1)(24)))/(2 xx 1)'

' x' = '(10 + sqrt (4))/2' = '12/2'

'x' = '(10 - sqrt (4))/2' = '8/2'

x = 6 or x = 4

Example 2:

Solve equation (9x 1)2 81 = 0.

Solution:

Applying square root method: (9x 1) 2 = 81

9x 1 = 'sqrt81' or 9x - 1 = 'sqrt81'

9x 1 = 9 or 9x 1 = 9

Solve equations:

9x 1+1= 9+1 or 9x -1+1= -9 +1

9x = 10 or 9x = 8

x = '10/9' or x = '8/9'

Additional Problem for 'websites for Algebra':

Given the length of the major axis of the hyperbola is 27 and the eccentricity is 10. Find the length of the minor axis of the hyperbola.

Solution:

If we have the length of major axis a and eccentricity e, we can find the length of the minor axis using the formula 2b=' 2asqrt(e^2 - 1)'

The major axis length is 27 and the eccentricity is 10.

So the semi major axis length is a = '27 / 2'

The minor axis length 2b = '2(27 / 2)sqrt(10^2 - 1) = 81sqrt(11)'

Hence, the length of the minor axis = '81''sqrt(11) '
