subject: Industry Experts Share pearls Of Wisdom At Siib [print this page] Last week was quite a celebration at SIIB campus. The students from the several programs conducted at SIIB campus got to gather to celebrate the Navratri festival on 20th October. Seeing the campus brightly lit up with the traditional fervor to celebrate Navratri was quite a memorable experience for the students and gave them an excellent outlet to get rid of their stress. After all, when you study so hard, you need to party even harder, dont you?
But before the future global managers got to the dance floor to grove to the dandiya beats in Navratri, these students also got a chance to participate in several knowledge enhancing sessions by domain experts from across the industry. Regularly inviting industry experts to interact with their students is an integral part of SIIB curriculum. In line with this practice, SIIB invited Dr. Areendran from WWF, Delhi to talk to the senior batch of students from the MBA In Energy and Environment program. Citing the current climatic issues as a major area of concern, Dr. Areendan shared insights on the intricacies involved in environment modeling. Through the session, he also educated the students on the various aspects of Geo informatics sciences that could be used to enhance the output at a relatively lesser investment along with protecting the environment.
SIIBs curriculum for the MBA in Energy program has always focused on teaching the students techniques to protect the intricate bond between sources of energy in an organization and the ecological environment. Backed by the extensive experience of handling multiple projects under the WWF banner, Dr. Areendans session was able to further broaden the perspectives of these students into the relatively unexplored domain of Geo informatics sciences as well.
In fact, the senior students from the MBA in Agribusiness program at SIIB also got a chance to participate in a similar knowledge enhancing experience when Dr. D.S. Gangwar, eminent IAS officer from the 1988 batch conducted a special session on 18th October. Presently, Dr. Ganagwar holds the post of Chief Vigilance Officer in the State Trading Corporation of India Limited and the MMTC Limited. Dr. Gangwar talked at length about the evolving rural marketing scenario and the vital role that agribusiness would be expected to play in the development of the economy.
He also elaborated on the various challenges that the SIIB students could face as future managers of various domains agribusiness. Dr. Gangwar inspired the students to pursue their careers with a renewed zeal. At the end of the entire session, all the students were left asking for more. After all, these pearls of wisdom play a major role in shaping the careers of students when they step into the industry.
SIIB has always given its students a campus equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities and a holistic learning environment to facilitate their true transformation into the creators of path breaking and innovative business policies.
