subject: Why Are Small Cars Perfect For Single Guys? [print this page]

This article outlines several reasons why small cars are the perfect vehicles for single guys to own and drive.

Perfect Size

Statistics show most single adults drive alone the majority of the time. Their vehicles are not packed up with large families or things like their kids' sporting equipment or toys. Only if a single guy does have kids would driving a small car be a disadvantage versus a bigger vehicle. This would be so because his kids would have friends who would want and need to be driven to sporting events, to after school activities, and back and forth to their friends' houses to play.

Other than this, the typical single guy might at most have one or two friends or acquaintances in his small car a minority of the time. For example, this could occur on a date, or when he's going out for dinner with a couple of buddies, but other than that, a small car provides him with more than enough room to take care of all his daily activities such as driving to work or school, picking up groceries, or doing other required errands.

Affordability To Purchase

Most single guys who work only have one household income, as opposed to having a working spouse contribute to the home budget. This single income makes their salaries invariably lower than married couples where both spouses work. Since small cars cost less on the whole than larger vehicles, unless they're expensive sports cars, it's much more affordable for a single guy to purchase either a used or new small car. This low cost factor makes a great case for the single guy to pursue the purchase of these cheaper cars.

High Gas Mileage

Along these same lines, since single guys are usually sole money earners, the fact that small cars, that are not sports cars, get extremely high gas mileage further cuts down on his driving expenses over a larger, less gas-efficient

car. Unless a single guy is wealthy, these much lower gasoline costs will

definitely help him conserve money from his paycheck. This is extremely

important considering that a single guy is usually responsible for every expense incurred in his lifestyle including housing, insurance, food, clothes,

and credit card bills, among others.

Low Maintenance Costs

Furthermore, a small car is always much less expensive to repair than a bigger vehicle since the parts cost less and the engine size is smaller, usually four cylinder, versus six or eight cylinders. All the parts on a small car are literally smaller in size, including the tires, brake pads, rotors, exhaust pipes, suspension components, and all of the interior parts as well, so this keeps their costs way down versus larger cars.

Second Car

If and when a single guy moves in with a girlfriend or gets married, his small

car he already owns can be kept as a secondary vehicle when not traveling with his partner and perhaps children that he'll have with her. This will make it

very convenient if his partner has to drive to work on her own each morning,

for it'll prevent them from having to share the same one car, whether the

small one or a bigger one that they bought together.

Convenient to Park

Many single guys live in small apartments and the parking spaces in these

apartment complexes tend to be quite crowded with other apartment dwellers. A smaller car is much easier to park than a big truck or van or long car. It's more conducive to the type of residence he lives in regarding the parking arrangement.

In conclusion, small cars are a practical & affordable option for single guys to have. There's simply no comparison to the advantages and benefits of driving a small car over a larger vehicle.
