Adjacent to it is the famous Wenlock Downs, a sprawling area of around 20,000 acres. In Wenlock Downs you could find the factory of the Hindustan Photo Films Company, Government Sheep Farm, Gymkhana Club and Golf Course. The largest rose garden in India is here. The Government Rose Garden was established in the year 1995 and is maintained by Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department. Tourist could view the garden from Nila Maadam, an observation platform at the slope of the gardens.
