subject: Type Of Qualification Takes A Back Seat! [print this page]

Prominence to education is provided on a rampant scale as that would be the outlet for finding a suitable job position at the earliest. Finding a job in India in the current scenario could be challenging and gaining employment in a sector of interest could be the second biggest hurdle. The present economy displays a vague picture; the changing dynamics do not project certainty. On a closer analysis of the job market, one can recall recession to be one of the determining factors.

The present requirement in the job market is the need to have skilled persons. The present situation states time is money which is one of the reasons why the firms prefer hiring individuals of the highest talent with respect to the job position. Stricter market rules indicate that the preferences are tight. This would mean that the candidate is at the mercy of the changing market. Pupils graduating from universities with ample degrees need to up their game by enrolling themselves for different education modules which would impart that unique skill and set him apart while he takes the plunge in the job market. Apart from being qualified in regular skills and possessing additional ones, a candidate needs to prep him up for the incoming competition. Preparation is necessary both on the academic front as well as on the personal note. Confidence and the right attitude are essentials needed to be projected to gain advantage over the rest.

It is a general idea that higher the qualification, easier would be the chance to acquire a job position. The recent skill requirement quotes a unique job profile demanding candidates irrespective of a higher qualification such as a Master or a doctorate. Diplomas or skill oriented courses such as the vocational courses are of sudden significance as these candidates are more hands-on and ready to take up new projects coming their way. Even if the top companies prefer candidates from the IITs and reputed institutions, the small and medium size companies prefer candidates with the experience and skill; skill of any caliber and they are readily employed. The small industries would rather compromise on the qualification source than missing out on the right candidate thereby saving on the monetary issues spent on the lookout of a more qualified one. Also, the training time is reduced and work is continued in full swing. At times, the pressure of performing in a small company is less with regard to a high profile company. With passing time, working in any company would benefit ones career irrespective of the company size.

The recent trends of employment are proof that the skilled person is of importance and not of the qualification as the experience would be valued in the long run. Keeping an eye open on the changing front in the economy is essential for any individual as it would help him steer his career towards the needs of any organization and take advantage of the scenario to the fullest.
