subject: Make Your Bedroom Stand Out With A Good Wardrobe [print this page]

With so much furniture now found in modern day homes, more often than not people who own them "forget" they are there, even forgetting to clean them occasionally. But some furniture really does stand out, whether it is because of its outstanding quality, or just because the size is such that it cannot be avoided. When it comes to the one room that is the most private of the whole house - the bedroom - the one piece of furniture that usually stands right out is the wardrobe.

Wardrobes are usually an indispensable piece of furniture, especially when there are many pieces of clothing that need to be stored or put away, and it is usually the adults that make more use of this great item than children. Wardrobes have the ability to dominate any bedroom with their appearance, especially if they have been chosen so that they compliment the current decor and design of a room. But herein lays the initial problem - before purchasing a wardrobe you have to put a lot of thought into the space options you have available, as well as the colour schemes of the bedroom it will be placed in.

Bedrooms that are decorated in more neutral colours can benefit of wardrobes made from the calmer tones of walnut or cherry wood, whereas rooms that are a bit "louder" will benefit from wood which is a bit "bolder" such as cherry. You will then have to determine the exact size of the space you have available for your wardrobe; you wouldn't want to bring one home only to find out it is too big for the space you have allocated it! Of course, today many people are opting for wardrobes that are customised especially for the space and as such are constructed in the room itself.

There are so many designs and styles of wardrobe you could go for, the choices could be overwhelming. As long as you have a n approximate idea of the size and what the wardrobe will contain in terms of shelving and rails, have the battle has been won. You may also want to consider factors such as what will be kept in the wardrobe, and how they will be kept; on rails, folded on shelves or folded away in draws. The design can ultimately be as intricate or as plain as you like, and there are many additions for wardrobes available as well, such as glass mirrored doors or wardrobe drawers.

At the end of the day, your wardrobe will be what you want it to be. Take care of it, and it will take care of you and your garments in return
