Both Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and tour operators operate regular bus services from Mysore to Coorg. Online Reservation facilities are available for booking for seats in the KSRTC buses.
Private tourist Volvo buses, which are available in plenty, charge a rate of Rs.60 for the journey. The fare for the non-A/c bus is lesser. Travelling by bus is suitable for individual passengers. The bus takes more than two hours and 30 minutes to reach the destination from Mysore.
Taxi cars are available in plenty to travel from Mysore to Coorg. There are several sightseeing destinations in between Mysore and Coorg. Travel by cab helps the tourists see these places which included Nisargadhama hanging bridge, Golden Temple, Sivan Temple and Tibetan Colony. Madikeri is also situated in the route. Taxi cars charge Rs.2500 for the return journey. If it is not for return journey, taxi will charge a rate ranging from Rs.10 to Rs.20 per kilometre depending on the type of vehicle.
The taxi cars take about two hours to travel from Mysore to Coorg. Travel by car is suitable for families with kids, groups and senior citizens.
