subject: Google Nexus One Available in the United States [print this page] The Google Nexus One is now available for all T-Mobile customers in the United States. While you could buy this mobile phone without any carrier locks on it, it is often quite expensive to do. The current price to do so is well over $500, a price that many people are simply not willing to pay for a mobile phone that is unlocked or locked. However, there are still plenty of great things that you can do with your Google Nexus One on the T-Mobile network. One of the best tasks that the Nexus One lets you do is actually get the full benefits from a smart phone. There are so many phones out on the market that are allowing you to take pictures and videos. However, the Nexus One has the best camera as well as the best base platform for video and pictures. The new Android upgrade that has been released has allowed users to have many of the advance features that they have come to love. However, people with older mobile phones that are running on Android are not going to get these updates for some time yet. Another great benefit of having the Google Nexus is its technical specifications. Unlike other phones that only include the bare minimum tech specs, the Nexus is maxed out! You are going to have some of the strongest specs that you have seen in quite a while, at least for a mobile phone. First off, you have a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The only other mobile phone to have this, at least that has been released is the iPhone. This phone is also super slim. This does not prevent it from making a big difference though. While the Nexus weighs 130 grams with a battery and 100 without you are never going to have to worry about it not working. In fact, it is one of the easiest phones to work with and you should have no problems putting it through a full line of day to day use. Also, the video that comes out of this mobile is simply stunning. You will be hard pressed to find other phones that can give you high quality video shot at 20 FPS at 720x480 pixel resolution. There are just not that many other phones out there that do it. While the Google Nexus is currently only using GSM technology that does not mean that it will not be available for CDMA networks in the future. There is plenty of evidence to support the CDMA, and in fact, Google is going to be releasing a version of the Nexus for Verizon Wireless in the United States, a CDMA carrier, this spring. Many people may not be able to afford the high initial price that the Nexus costs. However, there are subsidized options for people who are willing to commit to a two year contract with a carrier. T-Mobile is currently the only carrier to do this, but Vodafone will also be doing it later this spring with Google's assistance.
