subject: Logitech G25 Racing Wheel [print this page] The Logitech G25 Racing Wheel was the finest force-feedback steering wheel available at the time. The G25 Racing Wheel features stainless steel, aluminum and leather components which highlight the overall quality of this wheel. The G25 costs a bit more but if you take your sim racing seriously it is well worth it.
The newer G27 has surpassed it in function, but also in price. If you can still find the G25 then this is the better choice for the money.

Guide Review - Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
Logitech has a winner with this high-end force-feedback wheel.
The G25 feels solid and races very smooth. One side-effect of all force-feedback wheels is that the motor used to provide the forces leave "notchiness" in the steering that detracts from the smoothness. The Logitech G25 has reduced that effect so that it is nearly unnoticeable.
Those force effects are provided by two high-torque motors which will leave you sweating if you turn up the power. These beasts are strong. Properly tuned the effects are excellent and the motors do their job incredibly well.
The G25 also provides a separate leather wrapped shifter with 8 buttons and a D-pad. This shifter switches easily from a full 6-speed gated shifter for games that support it to a sequential "bump shifting" mode for games that do not.
The shifter feels good. I would prefer a little more tactile feedback when I click into gear but it works great as it is. Also, there are a few posts on the internet of people who have had their reverse gear fail. Mine has not been a problem but I'm keeping an eye on it.
The three pedals are comfortable to use and provide long travel distances for precise speed and braking control.
My biggest complaint about the Logitech G25 is that the brake and clutch pedals are a bit too close together for my big size 13 feet. At first I was hitting the brake and clutch at the same time. With a little bit of practice I have adapted but I would prefer them to be a little farther apart.
Overall, the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel is simply the best force-feedback steering wheel available. If you are passionate about sim racing and in the market for a force-feedback wheel then the Logitech G25 is the obvious choice for you.
