Hyderabad, located on the banks of Musi River is the capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Basically an agrarian community, nowadays it attracts a lot of tourist to visit some of the tourist spots like the 1000 pillared Temple, 13th century star shaped Shiva Temple, Eturnagaram and Pakhal Lake and the wild life sanctuary at Pakhal.

Warangal is located at a distance of 146 km from Hyderabad and the driving time is just a little more than two hours. From Hyderabad one has to start driving on the NH202 and reach Jangaon via Bhangir. From Jangaon continue driving on the NH202 to finally reach Warangal. The condition of the road from Hyderabad to Warangal is quite good. Being close to Hyderabad, numerous hotels have come up in Warangal to accommodate the weekend crowd.

There are many state transport (APSRTC) and private buses conducting regular services from Hyderabad to Warangal. There are many categories of buses like ordinary, AC Seater, Semi Sleeper with push back seats and Volvo AC. The cost of a bus ticket ranges from Rs 350 to Rs 500 depending upon the type of bus one prefers.

If travelling in small group, you could even hire a private taxi from Hyderabad to Warangal. The cost of hiring a taxi starts from Rs 3000 for a round trip and upwards depending on the type of car. One can easily book for a bus or taxi from the various tour operators in Hyderabad.

There are many trains from Hyderabad to Warangal and the time taken is about two hours 30 minutes. The Vishakhapatanam Secunderabad Garib Rath (12740) running four days a week leaves Hyderabad at 20.15 hours and arrives at Warangal at 22.10 hours. The Krishna Express (17406) leaves Hyderabad at 06.05 hours and arrives at Warangal at 08.32 hours. The Rajdhani Express (12429) departs from Hyderabad at 07.50 hours and arrives at Kazipet (twin city of Warangal) at 09.28 hours. There are also many other trains plying on this route and one can easily book tickets from any of the net portals. Travel by train is more comfortable and economical than by road.
