Print: It is piece of paper which has been created from imprinted matrix. The matrix can be created on wood, copper, steel or stone. The matrix is created from hand. It is a vintage art image which has been created on hand-made paper. No two prints are similar in nature. The process of creation was also very different. These prints where not reproduced with photomechanical methodology. It has made them vintage prints because it has been created from hand.

Number is given to all different edition of the print. When buy the print you should see the numbers printed on it. The number is printed in the form of fraction such as 4/24. It meant that the edition was 24 impressions with impression being number 4. These are Limited Edition Prints. Some of the prints do not have numbers because it has been produced in larger editions. In the 1800s Victorian prints were produced in large numbers.

Woodcut: Other common form antique pictures are woodcuts. It has made by cutting the wood surface the help of a knife. The areas which were not been printed used to cut and the areas which were suppose to printed was not cut. Ink was applied on the surface which was not cut. Different process was used to ink the wood. Old master prints are created by woodcuts. It was introduced in 1900. Later on this technique was used for printing on cloth also.

Wood Engraving: Another form of wood cut was engraved. Engraving wood was done on a back of hardwood such as boxwood and cherry. In this the artist would give detailing of each draw. Fine lines were being specified in it.
