subject: How To Get Rid Of Acne [print this page]

The acne control industry is one of the big money operations of the medical marketplace. If you go to the drug or grocery store, it isnt hard to find literally dozens and dozens of acne control products all claiming that they can either prevent acne or clear it up in no time once a teenager gets the skin condition. But what these big acne medicine companies dont want you to know is that the huge majority of teenagers can control acne with relative ease preventing most outbreaks. And when they do get a pimple or two, the steps to get rid of them are neither difficult, painful or expensive.

There is a very basic and easy to use daily facial procedure that any teenager can do that they will not only not mind doing but they might think it is sort of fun. And if they become habitual about this simple little evening ritual, most of the problems of acne will be avoided or at least minimized. That step is to apply a mudpack layer on the face for the prescribed amount of time and then remove it with good old hot water and a mild soap.

Now the facial mud that we are talking about is not the kind you get by going in the back yard and scooping up wet dirt. It is a product type that is safe to use on skin, clean and hypoallergenic. The effect of the mud mask is that it opens the pours and cleans any pours that are clogged with oils or dirt. The outcome is a cleansed skin at the pore level. When you wash the mud off, you will be able to feel how much more healthy and open your skin is. And all of those impurities that would cause acne go down the drain with the mud treatment.

By building and sustaining a habit of cleaning the face with mud treatment, you or your teenager also gets in the habit of washing their face every day. That one step alone can cut the occurrence of acne or its severity significantly. But by supplementing this habit with one of washing the hands many times each day to remove oils from the fingers, this step takes away the most common cause of the spread of acne with is the acne sufferers own touch.

The final blow to acne after you arrest the problem the skin surface level is diet. Most teenagers have a habit of drinking a lot of sodas, eating a lot of chips, snacks and junk food and generally not thinking about diet from a health perspective. By simply replacing fatty and oily foods with fruits and vegetables, not only will this improve his or her overall health, it will give the skin plenty of good nutrients to stay healthy and reduce the fat and oils that are what acne needs to survive. And if a teenager understands that a clean complexion means more popularity especially with the opposite sex, that motivation is often all you need to turn your growing child into a skin health nut. But that is a good kind of nut to be.
